The wins keep piling up for property giant Megaworld Corporation.
Three-time “Best Developer” Megaworld, together with its subsidiaries Global-Estate Resorts, Inc. (GERI) and Empire East Land Holdings, Inc., asserted its industry dominance once again by winning 12 major awards at the 2019 Philippines Property Awards held at Fairmont Hotel in Makati City.
The group’s latest win was highlighted by the “Best of the Philippines” award given to GERI’s Newcoast Village at Boracay Newcoast, which was named as this year’s “Best Housing Development.”
Winning a golden trophy each during the gala night were Megaworld’s Uptown Bonifacio (Best Township Development); ArcoVia City (Best Mixed-Use Development); World Commerce Place (Best BPO Office Development); Festive Walk Iloilo (Best Retail Development); McKinley West (Best Township Masterplan Design); and Uptown Arts Residence (Best Luxury Condo Interior Design); and GERI’s Newcoast Village (Best Housing Development-Resort Destination) and Southwoods Mall (Best Commercial Landscape Architectural Design). Empire East’s Cambridge Village, meanwhile, received two major awards as the winner in the Best Universal Design Development and the Best High-Rise Affordable Condo Development for Metro Manila categories, while San Lorenzo Place was awarded the “Best Mid-End Condo Development for Metro Manila.”
Also receiving Highly Commended recognitions were Megaworld’s ArcoVia City (Best Township Masterplan Design), GERI’s Twin Lakes Hotel (Best Hotel Interior Design) and Southwoods Mall (Best Retail Development), and Empire East’s The Rochester (Best High-Rise Affordable Condo Development for Metro Manila), and Covent Garden (Best Mid-Range Condo Development for Metro Manila).
“We are truly grateful for all these prestigious recognitions given to our group’s various developments. These wins will serve as welcome inspiration to all of us at the Megaworld Group as we continue building on our vision of uplifting lives, impacting society, and helping shape the nation by bringing topnotch developments to different parts of the country,” said Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso, chief operating officer, Megaworld.
The group’s main category winners will now be competing for more international accolades at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final ceremony slated in November of this year in Bangkok, Thailand, where they will vie for prestigious recognitions against the best of the best from more than a dozen property markets around the Asia-Pacific region.
“It is indeed an exciting time for the Philippine real estate sector, with developers and non-developers pursuing innovation and using new technologies and best practices to provide consumers quality projects and experiences, and investment opportunities in the biggest metropolitan areas and resort destinations across the country. I’m delighted that the awards continue to build its reputation as the trusted gold standard in real estate in its seventh year,” said Hari V. Krishnan, chief executive officer of PropertyGuru Group.
